How Much Does a Drone Environmental Survey Cost?

Planning benchmarks for drone ecology surveys, EIA packages, mosquito control, emissions checks and forestry LiDAR in the US.

Planning benchmarks (guidance only)

Market benchmarks put a drone ecology or habitat survey at roughly $800–$3,500 per day, multispectral vegetation mapping at about $15–$35 per hectare on small sites ($8–$20 on large ones), and a drone-supported EIA / NEPA survey package at around $5,000–$25,000 per study. These are illustrative ranges, not quotes.

Pest, emissions and forestry work

Drone vector-control application is often quoted at about $2.50–$4.50 per hectare, compared with roughly $6.00–$9.50 for truck-mounted spraying. Emissions and gas-detection visits on an oil and gas site commonly run $1,200–$5,000 per visit, water sampling and algal bloom surveys about $600–$2,500 per day, and LiDAR forest inventory about $12–$40 per hectare.

What moves the price

Site size and access, the sensor (RGB, multispectral, thermal, LiDAR, gas detector, water sampler), the number of repeat visits, regulatory reporting needs (NEPA input, agency submission), licences required for any chemical application, travel, weather windows and how much analysis you need on top of the raw data.

How to get comparable quotes

Send every provider the same brief: discipline, ecosystem, location, site size, regulatory requirement, preferred sensors, deliverables, timeline, project type and budget band. Our quote form captures exactly these fields so quotes can be compared line by line.
