Finding Environmental Drone Contracts: SAM.gov and State Procurement Guide

Where operators can find federal, state and local environmental drone work, and how to get ready to bid.

Register first

Federal work is advertised on SAM.gov. Registering gives you a Unique Entity ID, which most federal buyers need before award. Many state and local agencies run their own vendor portals as well.

Who buys

Mosquito and vector control districts, state environmental and natural resource agencies, the US Forest Service, the US Fish & Wildlife Service, the Army Corps of Engineers, water utilities, counties and universities all procure drone survey, monitoring and application work.

Search tips

Search for terms such as UAS, unmanned aircraft, drone, aerial survey, larviciding, vegetation mapping and methane detection, and use the relevant NAICS codes for environmental consulting and surveying. Set saved-search alerts.

Strengthen your profile

Keep Part 107, Part 137, state licences, insurance and case studies current, and add them to your claimed listing here so public buyers can confirm capability quickly.
